Alas, it's the sloths feeding the sloths. The reason the analysts sell their pile of dog sh*t so easily to the "business side project owners" is because the "business side project owners" find it easier to pay for research (however biased) than conduct their own. Furthermore, it then gives the "business side project owner" a faceless, fuzzy, 3rd party to blame when the enterprise software installation project is 18 months overdue and 250% over-budget.
