Congrats! Just wait until you have to juggle early morning / late night conference calls with other geographies. All seems to be going well, and then poof! Your release has decided to throw an exception and exit the sleep cycle early.

Congratulations!

Around the time of the first service pack/1.x release (3 months from now) you'll likely end up actually being able to sleep. :-)

If you thought dealing with engineers, salespeople and customers was difficult just wait till you see what is in store for you with kids!

Congratulations. We recently welcomed Baby 1.0 as well. There's been lots of scope creep on the specs, including financial. The most unexpected additional scope (by dad at least) was the need to support a catering operation for visitors. Dad has gotten good at serving impromptu dinners.

Two recos regarding cranky baby from a dad who had the most colicky baby known to man.

1 - the miracle blanket - a href="http://www.miracleblanket.com/" rel="nofollow"http://www.miracleblanket.com//a Don't know if it would have saved our sanity with B1.0, but it made a big difference with B2.0 who (thankfully) wasn't quite as insane as big brother

2 - slings, e.g., a href="http://zolowear.com/." rel="nofollow"http://zolowear.com/./a The only thing that would get B1.0 asleep at times was a ride in the sling. It is also a great/comfortable way to carry a baby, regardless of whether they are the flavor that is always screaming or not.

Sincere Congratulations on this great news! I personally find the documentation on this particular product line confusing at best. And don't get me started on the training and eventual deployment costs...

Congratulations on release 1.0.

BTW, while there will be many who try and tell you how to manage the lifecycle of your release, you will likely ignore their advice and decide what is best the release yourself. Having said that, I'll offer you this piece of advice, assuming you have not reached this stage.

About 6 weeks after release date, the release has a "growth spurt" that makes the release incredibly cranky. This has been known to cause memory leaks, and unplanned downtime for the release managers as neither level 1 or level 2 support typically addresses the crankiness.

Take care and, once again, congrats.

Firstly, congratulations! Have fun with the cranky baby.

Had the same problem with non-sleeping crying. The midwaife suggested reading "The Aware Baby" by Aletha Solter. It really helped by explaining why babies cry.
